I never understood how something that stunk so bad could end up tasting good. I have enough collard greens to share, if anyone would like a couple of pounds worth let me know. I'll be cooking some later today.

Danno, I would gladly expose who I am to you for some collard greens. I can't eat any this week because I'm on Coumadin and green leafy stuff is a "no-no". It shows up in my blood test (I get all of the time). I eat some when I can, during the week I don't have to get tested. I have a port-a-cath in my chest wall that was put in when I was on chemo and that's why I have the Port. Getting some smoked hocks wouldn't be a problem. Now I'm all "juiced up" thinking about it all. Yes, greens and cabbage don't smell good, but they're good eating.

A lady friend recently shared her greens cookin knowledge with me. I used a smoked turkey wing and a pinch of baking soda with some other seasoning and a little cayenne pepper. It was soooooo good! I think the fact that some frost has hit them makes them better. Just send me a private message (click on my name) and I'll be happy to bring some over.

I sure will-didn't know I could do that. It would be funny if we know one another.

Danno, I got scared---it said "post a message"--when I tried sending it to you it wouldn't go because I had to have a "Subject". Should I go under "Members"? :?

BD, just put "greens" in the subject matter. That will work!

Thanks NS Karen--I sent a test message.
