Ok, it's obvious that some people here think it's time for Larry to go, and it's also obvious that some think Susan has major issues. I have a simple solution for you all... vote for Mark Kajfez!

I personally would like to see a serious debate in which each candidate defends their TAN. That seems to be an important issue judging by the number of times it has been referenced in these threads.

I'm afraid that I can't help you out, I'm out of tan....err, town.

Does anyone know what happened to the third candidate? Last I heard busy, busy, busy Suzi had called him and asked to meet with him. Is he still running?

Matt Burleson, a firefighter, dropped out of the race after it was too late to take his name off the ballot. The Waukegan Firefighter union voted to endorse Susan Link. I would imagine that pressure was applied to get him to drop out.

Let me see if I have the time line correct. I spoke with him the night before he met with her. He was excited and energenic, telling me all about his plan. He meets with her, drops out and the fireman endorse her. Pretty sure we are all missing a piece of the puzzle. Why am I not surprised by any of this.

Haven't you ever heard the expression, "Busy people get things done"?
The very reasons you list as why she's "too busy" are the very reasons she should be elected Alderman. She's very active in improving our city and will not be doing the job for the healthcare benefits, unlike Larry. Seriously, the guy is 78. Time to retire. If he truly "walked the ward" he would see that someone on my block had a tarp covering their garage instead of a door for OVER 4 years!! And that another home on our block has a ghetto deck in their backyard for which they did not pull a permit. We need someone who can get things done, in our ward and in city council. Suzy raised private funds to keep our municipal band playing outdoor concerts in the summer, after the board cut off their funding. One of the scant cultural events of value in our town. Out with the old, in with the new.

Yeah, if you think that our ward is bad now, imagine how well Suzy will run it from Florida.
As far as the band concerts went, Suzy took someone else's idea and suggestion for it and called her boss to write the check from AT&T; she didn't part the Red Sea here nor credit the person whom most people know the idea came from. THAT"S the real Suzy Link. |
