I'm in the 6th ward. I'm still waiting for notification from the city about anything concerning the water supply....Many of my neighbours found out about the boil order by accident (overheard it on the train, heard it at the garage etc) For those whose immune systems are compromised, or the elderly, or the very young, or those do not have online access to the city's web site, this sorry episode could have been deadly.

The city of Waukegan owes its citizens a duty of care - it failed miserably.

My neighbor in my apt complex received the call not to use the water. She told me about it. I rec'd a call saying the ban was lifted. The apt Mgr posted notes on all of the buildings as soon as they were notified. Well, the bottled water people made a lot of money, (which I believe is only tap water--all of the Springs should now be dried up). :?
