Is there any validity to this attachment? A friend of mine sent this to me in an email not to long ago, but I haven't seen any mention of this at any local news media.

I called the number listed and the woman confirmed that there is a boil order on for the next 48 hours.

Why in the hell didn't the city put the reverse 911 system our taxes pay for into operation to let the citizens know wbout the problem? I guess it only works when an alderman holds a ward meeting in an election year.

I wonder why this wasn't in the NewsSun and why didn't Hyde use the Emergency Phone Calling System that they paid thousands of dollars for, to notify the residents?
If it weren't for this forum we would never have known!

Just got back from City Council Meeting. Apparently, the police T1 line went down so it will be another 18 hours before all homes are notified.

I live in Waukegan Township - and actually have well water, but I got an automated phone call, about 9:35 PM.

After reading about the boil order here, and confirming with the water department, I printed up several copies of the notice and distributed them to my neighbors. Several of them had already been notified via the automated system. My children said that the boil order had been announced at school (St. Anastasia) and parents were also notified when we picked up our kids.

They said I had to boil water for two days. I've been boiling some water for 3 hours now.... I'll die of thirst by then!
