I hope that's not true, but you probably have better sources than I. I wish him well.

So, ahhh, I'm thinking the election is not until next year, way off, sometime...
But when you think of it in two months we have to decide who will lead our city. I've heard three of the candidates speak and they have very different ideas on how to lead us. Will there be any debates/forums with all of them together? 8-) Finally when is the cut-off for entering? So far we have Guzman, Cunningham, Wakefield and Hyde yes?

These are just the ones that I know have officially declared that they are running. We keep hearing rumors that others want to run as well. That's why I was wondering when the deadline to declare was.

Snoopy Wrote:Thanks for the consideration Snoopy, but I think you can count me out... at least for Mayor. As long as we still have a city council with a Larry Tenpas and 7 other less than mediocre public servants (Public Takers really) I have no interest in any part of that. Plus I would take the job so seriously and work so hard to make this place the kick ass city it should be that it would probably literally kill me. For instance... a couple of years ago there was a problem with the snow removal at the library to the extent that there was only a four inch wide "trench" cleared in the 2-1/2 foot thick mountain of snow that blocked access from the street to the sidewalk. I complained about this and was told there was a "feud" between the library and the city over who's responsibility it was to clean the snow. So some city official, most likely because of a personal ego problem, made a decision to not remove snow at the expense of the library going public. Now had I been mayor and someone complained to me about it I would have got a snow shovel or plow or snowblower or whatever it took and removed that snow myself as soon as possible. THEN I would have immediately fired every city employee involved, from the top on down... let the chips fall where they may. If I were mayor and drove by a city work crew and there were the typical 5 watching one work.... the 5 all get fired immediately... let the chips fall. If, as mayor, I had evidence that any member of the public got treated with anything less than professional conduct and attitude... you got it... NOT ACCEPTABLE - EMPLOYEE GETS FIRED IMMEDIATELY. Instead of a city that "WORKS FOR A FEW" we'd have a city "THAT WORKS FOR YOU". Hey, maybe that would have been my campaign motto.fedupinwaukegan Wrote:So, ahhh, I'm thinking the election is not until next year, way off, sometime...Don't count Danno out?

Aw, Danno- I kind of had my hopes up there! I can certainly understand why people who care a great deal about this city
would not run to lead it. I have neighbors who have asked me to run for alderman, but I can't bring myself to put my family through that.

Danno--that would have been a great slogan. When is the election? Is there a Primary? It sure is quiet out there regarding the upcoming election. :o
