It is indeed. Unfortunately, while that too was to be a restaurant space, it apparently was not built to minimum standards, with rear exits and grease traps.... Anyone who decides to lease that space as a restaurant will end up having to retrofit that as well.

It's a shame.... After the unfortunate incident of the Academy Theatre burning down, the city had put in such a nice little park. Then they tore that all out and built that empty monstrosity.

How could the City allow a building to be built for a restaurant and not even have the basics in it so it could become a restaurant without a lot more investment by a potential restranteur? That makes no sense, does it?

Yes, I remember that area across from the Genesee Theater when it was a park, it really looked nice. It also allowed a better view of the theater, made it feel more special and open there. Now everything there is so crammed in, those buildings right up to the sidewalk.

That is a "monstrosity" there that got built. Great way to describe it. I really can't find any beauty in the building. It looks like something from the 1980's, not year 2009. How come it still sits empty? There should be some eatery and shops that could move in there and make it better. Go figure !
