OK, need to update on the status of this....I've emailed Batiste and the whole school board....today I got a call from the Principal, Sonny Garza and Dr. Batiste himself. I would like to thank Sonny for all his effort and concern about this...also following up with everything...he's been great!! The Principal called me and sounded flustered, but told me that there must've been some kind of communication break-down between the High School and the Welcome Center, but that I can go to the WC and re-register her there, as there are over 100 students still not registered. Dr. Batiste called me and told me that after reading the email, he didn't want to call the H.S. but actually go there in person to see what was going on. He talked to me a bit, and told me that my daughter wasn't dropped, and that I can take her over to the Welcome Center....he would call them and let them know my daughter's name, and let them know to get her registered so she can make it the first day. I still don't know how this whole thing went wrong, but it's obvious that her records are at the H.S. as Dr. Batiste was able to get some info. from them. Anyhow...I want to publicly thank Mr. Garza and Dr. Batiste for their quick action on this. No word whatsoever from any other board member...just an FYI.
