In 2007 Chicago reported that 20.5% were below the poverty level. I think that is wrong. I think Chicago is much worse but when has Chicago ever told the truth about anything? Either way it's nothing to be proud of.
The point being that democrats love poor people, poor people are their biggest fans, they keep voting democratic and have done so for decades yet they are still poor. The democratic parties way to deal with poor people is not to bring them up but to keep them down.
