Einstein once said, 'The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats---yet they are still ..................... POOR "You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for the masses, what they could and should do for themselves." Re: Poverty in Our Cities. - wths74 - 03-18-2009 Blackdiamond Wrote:What about Chicago? In 2007 Chicago reported that 20.5% were below the poverty level. I think that is wrong. I think Chicago is much worse but when has Chicago ever told the truth about anything? Either way it's nothing to be proud of. The point being that democrats love poor people, poor people are their biggest fans, they keep voting democratic and have done so for decades yet they are still poor. The democratic parties way to deal with poor people is not to bring them up but to keep them down.
