Hi Karen, The seedlings in the picture are from seed that I saved from a fantastic new variety called Bonfire. This cultivar is based on germplasm collected in 1990 in Bolivia. The country of New Zealand sent out an expedition looking for exceptional species. Before this, garden begonias were base on 4 species collected over 100 years ago and then they were not looking for exceptional garden performance. They did a wonderful job with this one as it is amazing in hanging baskets. I had pictures posted last summer. I'll put them up again later. If you have a 10 or 20 gallon aquarium and a plant light fixture laying around I can show you how to set it up as an excellent germination chamber. You will be able to germinate even difficult subjects.
