I see you have a limited vocabulary. Whose the hater frank? No one here hates Waukegan, it's sad to see what happened at City Council when these are our leaders and they are acting like children. They should be addressing the issues that affect the citizens of this city. Take a look in the mirror and see whose ignorant, Frank. Let "Mayor Bob" have his way and layoff police officers and firemen, while the taxpayers continue to pay for elected official's health care benefits. If elected officials paid for their own healthcare that would bring in approx. 1.6 million in revenue or if they paid half (as do the police and fire) that would be appox 800k. So next time you need to call 911, call "Mayor Bob". You are the only "negativism" here. Where are your solutions to a better Waukegan?

Did you mother's mental state ever drive her to suicide attempts? If it did would you consider her fit for elective office? Personally I don't think someone who has attempted suicide would be fit for public office. Just my opinion, all elected officials should be required to make their medical records public.

I'm sorry but I have to chime in. I was at the Council Meeting and I don't think Mayor Sabonjian was out of line. Alderman TenPas was the hot head and if he had an issue he should have approached the City Clerk (not Sabonjian) before the meeting. The City clerk is the one that changed the meeting minutes shortly before the Council meeting at the request of Alderman Larsen. It was a one word change. The agenda was not changed as someone wrote in an earlier post.
Also, Alderman TenPas should have used proper procedure and voted "no" to approve the minutes and stated why when he said his vote. Mayor Sabonjian was simply pushing him to vote "no" on the minutes as they were written.
Alderman TenPas is at fault and it is embarrassing for our City to see our Leaders behave that way for the entire world to see.

The issue between Tenpas and Sabonjian goes a lot deeper than just minutes being altered. Consider the words that were changed on the agenda: Where it was previously written that the council ACCEPTED a proposal from Smith and LaLuzerne(Sp.) it was changed to say CONSIDERED. This is not just a battle over words being changed but rather a battle over the millions of dollars that will be paid to the representative legal counsel for the city. Smith and LaLuzerne (Sp.) are backed by Tenpas and the old regime, where Sabonjian wants to bring in a new legal counsel (Johnson???), I don't recall the name. Also, knowing that the city paid out 3.2million dollars in legal fees last year, someone is looking to get rich.
Also, Please consider the fact that the city authorizes a a budget for a certain number of Police Officers and Firemen every year that is paid by City Taxes. The Waukegan Police Department is budgeted with enough funds that they are authorized to have 166 Sworn Police Officers. They are already down 15 Officers and the last post put out a number that states that they are down closer to 120 Officers. If we, the citizens of Waukegan are paying for 166 Officers, why are we not getting them? Also, where did the extra money that is budgeted to pay for those Officers go?

Why was it ok for beer to be sold and for people to walk around the streets of Waukegan drinking during Scoop? We heard Mayor Bob tried to stop the woman at the Jewel who does wine samplings from doing her job because he does not want "open alcohol" in Waukegan. He did his best to personally have her quit doing her job while he was at the Jewel but he ok'd open booze at Scoop. You gotta wonder just how he makes his decisions. Is there any rhyme or reason to what he does? How about selling chances for a classic car at Scoop. My wife and I saw several people selling chances to win a Mustang. That is gambling. It is a game of chance being played for money. I thought Bob was against gambling? I wish somebody would explain all of this. Each week living here gets stranger and stanger.
