Now it's beginning to sound more like an off duty cop leaving a restaurant after being threatened by a rowdy mob of 15 people inside and being followed outside by the unnamed agitators. I say he had to announce himself as an off duty cop-- outside-- hoping that this crowd would back off and when they didn't he was forced to pull out his firearm. Otherwise who knows what these people might have done to him. When 15 people follow one person out of a restaurant after a verbal altercation you can only assume that they mean to harm you. Accept this time they picked on the wrong person. You're also relying on hearsay that this policeman had been drinking at all. At least Frankzilch supports your position and that should provide you with some comfort, Mr. corndog. It's funny, how fast you jumped on that bandwagon, Frank.

First off, when you say I need to convince "us" I'm sure just speaking for yourself, if that is the case then I won't bother wasting my time for just you, everyone who is reading this can make up their own mind and decide if it's true. But I never said that the 15 witnesses were the model citizens, I don't know that for sure probably not, but what is the difference between them and a drunk off duty cop that has a gun in his hand. Both parties are stupid, however don't you think the off duty drunk cop should hold himself to a higher standard. If he does'nt then who will?

I think I can explain the reason for ClassicalLib17's use of the word "us". When some people are trying to counter a strong argument with a weak argument they sometimes try to bolster their own feebleness and ineptness with imaginary people on their side. They think, consciously or unconsciously, that more people on their side makes them more "right". Thus my opinion on ClassicalLib17's use of the word "us".

I think I've never seen such a talent for turning raw assumption into fact.... well, at least in your own brain. I get it, You're honing your skills for the World's Biggest Lair contest, right?

Your agenda shows a decided reliance on preconceived notions, and your statements are often libelous. I support and respect our police officers who do the best they can, considering the status quo. 'Us' means forum members, not just you two, who have already decided to stand behind the word of God knows who. Next time you need help, call a gang member.

A drunk a$$ Lt waiving his gun around and pointing it at people is not my idea of a hard working police officer. But you probably also believe that Chief Yancy was an innocent victim also.
I think that everyone blames the past city goverment and present city goverment for the problems that this city is currently facing, not just finacially but morally, when in fact it the same citizens that keep backing people like the chief of police and other city officials that continue to place this city in a bad light. Thank god that I don't pay a dime of taxes in Waukegan, I would hate to pay the salaries of officials that continue to be criminals themselves.

Dear corndog, I am saddened by your unsubstantiated accusation. Why would you compromise your credibility by engaging in race-baiting? Isn't this term commonly used in some forms of rap music? I think you have abandoned reality for the purpose of furthering some personal agenda that most of the population has become wise to by now. Do you want to make a difference in your life? Start by sticking with the facts.
