It sounds as though today (June 4, 2010) that the cap has been placed on the pipe but it is only stopping a fraction of leak.
This is appalling news, and I don't know where this will end.
I also saw a new ad on TV by BP CEO Tony Hayward saying how "all well be well" and they will make it "all right."
They also had a toll-free number to call, which is 1-866/448-5816. Here's Sir Tony:

So I called the BP toll-free phone number up, and it is a comment line. I told the BP rep on the other end of the
phone that with all due respect, I highly resent some British CEO buying ad time on American TV trying to make
all sound well when IT clearly is NOT.
ABC NEWS tonight showed the same BP CEO Tony Hayward skiing at Veil, Colorado, living the good life and lecturing
university business students last yr how previously before he became CEO, BP was trying to "save the world." He said
that was the totally wrong approach, only concern BP has is to "create value for our shareholders."

How totally pitiful. So Sir Tony increased "value for our shareholders" by nonstop, DRILL baby DRILL! Hmmm, well now look
at Sir Tony's LOSES...as well losses to our people and irreplaceable losses for our environment.
