Ok, explain this: I had an AMCO Gas Card, which turned into BP Card, which turned into Chase. :o

Now that IS interesting, BD ... I will have to research what CHASE BANK has to to with BP (doesn't sound good!).

By the way, I used to occasionally purchase my gas from a BP gas station on the corner of Lewis and Sunset Avenues in Waukegan. NOT ANY MORE.
There is a national boycott starting up of all BP gas stations, and I urge you all to consider NOT purchasing ANY gas or food products of any kind
from this BP station in Waukegan and all other BP gas stations, too.

I wish we could get "The RAGING Grannies" to come here to the Wkgn BP gas station to "sing"!

Yea, that sounds like a plan. When Jesse Jackson calls for a boycott, the lemmings jump off the cliff. Take note that Jesse doesn't jump first or last! Think for a moment. If you are successful with your boycott and BP declares bankruptcy, who do you suppose will assume the responsibility to pay ? If you have an ounce of common sense, you will fill up with BP from now, and until, this situation is concluded.

The Dutch have the technical knowledge and knowhow to clean up and cover the hole.

Why does the administration does not ask our help?

Technology in the U.S. exists that would have addressed the spill if action had been taken promptly. Isolate and burn was not allowed because of possibly toxic air. Dispersants were not allowed because they might be toxic. Gov. Jindal waited weeks for approval of berms to protect his state's coastline. At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theory nut, does anyone else suspect the spill was allowed to spread in order to push cap and tax or other "green" policies?

Dear Dennis, I am interested in all things technological. Please elaborate on your country's technical expertise in this area. Didn't you say you work for BP?

Yes, I used to work for that company. I got laid off due to the current crisis and the fact BP is cutting personell at certain area's.

The Dutch company Smit-Tak, has ships and certain suction arms to suck oil from the water, seperate it and return the water, containing the oil.

Sinds I am not an expert in oil recovery and containing engineering, I cannot say it will work, but it has worked with certain oil spills in France and we had in the North Sea with the destruction of the Piper-Alpha platform.

The company can also cap of the well by inserting a new pipe by using a special ROV that they can steer and assist from above. Effectively draining the well dry.

Thank you for your reply, Dennis. Your former company is using unmanned submersible robots to try to cut the broken pipe clean, which failed because the cutting blade got stuck in the cut, and then employed a hydraulic shear, which would not make as clean of a cut that the saw blade could, is tentatively successful. They will have more news on its success within 48 hours. I hope it works.

I hope so too! it is very bad for the enviroment!
