Apparently you have a little turf war going on in your neighborhood between two rival gangs. However I wouldn't really call them a traditional gang though more of a hybrid neighborhood gang. By lookin at the grafitti though their exhibiting traditional gang grafitti. The first gang is the Worack Family or WF or WB(Worack Boys). The 23 stands for the 23rd letter of the alphabet W and the 6 stands for the sixth letter of alphabet F. K stands for "Killer" The second gang JD stands for Jordan Disciples. You probably got some of these little a-holes living in your neighborhood trying to claim that neighborhood as theirs.

If caught, I think a little waterboarding adventure would be just what these little miscreants need. Unless you prefer caning, which would be just as effective.

Such an approach is an admission of failure.... failure consider the root cause... failure to address the root cause. Think about it. Do you really want to live in a society like that?

Thanks for the info. When I was a kid in the 1960's there were neighborhood gangs but mostly I just thought they were wierd looking kids who ate their boogers. On rare occasion some insults would be issued. On even rarer occasion a fight would brew and actually take place and then the threats of getting an older brother or the older neighborhood badass to settle the score would take place.

I'm sorry Danno, are you misconstruing my thoughts again? I don't pretend to know what is best for other communities, just Waukegan. The root cause is: lack of discipline, and a healthy respect fot the law.

I fail to see what part of your post I may have misconstrued? That part about torturing kids?

For the most part punitive laws are the result of a failure to more effectively address a problem. They are in essence equivalent to an admission of a failure to effectively address a societal problem. Let's examine the specific act of theft. For multifaceted reasons our society deems theft to be abberant behavior. Our legislators, who are totally inept when it comes to effective problem solving, enact laws that prohibit and punish the act of theft because they don't know what else to do about the problem or have become to lazy to think of better ways. Punitive laws are an easy way out. They dont require much investigation, understanding and thought. Simply put... don't do it or you will be punished. What an assinine and childish way to solve a complex problem.
On some levels human beings are remarkably intelligent and on others we are very stupid. If humans don't annihilate themselves first there will be a time in the future when punitive laws will be considered archaic and primative. The stupidity will be very hard to overcome.
Try harder to think beyond that which you are indoctrinated. It's not easy to do either.

I dont like gang graffiti either, but graffiti is an artform. These kids just need to get better skills.

Graffiti is defined as unauthorized writing or drawing on public property. If it devalues something it cannot be art. Art is something which adds to the quality of life, it does not diminish it. So what is it when done on private property? Pure and simple... criminal damage to property.
