Some wonderful volunteer Waukegan artists were nice enough to pretty up my neighboorhood last night. How nice of them to be doing such good work for the community they live in. Just one of the many benfits of living in Waukegan.

Danno, seeing that made me cry. It should be alright to shoot someone IN THE BACK for doing that. I know it looks terrible but I would leave it like that so anyone passing by can see what could happen to them. I am so, so sorry. :cry:

Thanks for you sentiments BD. The hard part is I just paid my property taxes this morning. There should be a "war zone" discount.

A neighbor of mine was walking his dog one night and was slashed by two gang members carrying a boxcutter. He had to be transported to the hospital in a rescue squad. How much more of this can we take? Imagine the damage caused to a brick structure? You cannot remove the graffiti without causing permanent damage to the brick. The penalty for that should be the cost to re-brick the entire house or garage. Instead the law issues a petty fine and the homeowner is left with diminished property value. Who will want to buy that house? We provide free schools, breakfast, lunch, sports, libraries, healthcare, housing, food stamps, etc. to alot of these miscreants single parents and in return we get a punch in the face. If our police have to rough up one of these little bastards we get sued by the ACLU or some other group. I have to agree with BD.

The one that really bothers me is the property that belongs to a wonderful lady in her 80's. She has lived in the house for at least 50 years that I know of and always keeps her yard nice. This is such a violation of her. Has this city ever taken a proactive approach to eliminating the gang presence. Do our aldermen even know or care? What the hell do they think when they drive by this crap. Do they think it looks fine? I don't know who I want to slap harder, the punk who did this or the aldermen who do nothing. Oh how I wish I could move out of this stinking place.
