Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - kellyann1293 - 10-14-2009 Come on Frank, it's no different than neighborhood watch. I haven't joined any neighborhood watch groups on the west side of town but that doesn't mean I want everything west of Lewis to be flushed down the crapper. Maybe you should start a topic for your ward/neighborhood? Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - fedupinwaukegan - 10-15-2009 Homes in Waukegan historic district burglarized Comments October 15, 2009 NEWS-SUN STAFF REPORT WAUKEGAN -- Police are urging residents in the city's Near North Historic District to be on the lookout for suspicious activity, following a series of burglaries. Since Sept. 16, four homes along Sheridan Road, between Grand and Ridgeland avenues, have reported being burglarized, police said Wednesday. The most recent incident occurred Oct. 8. According to police, in a few of the burglaries the perpetrators made entry to the home through an unlocked window or door. Police arrested two individuals believed responsible for one of the burglaries on Sept. 22, but the rest remain unsolved, said Lt. Ed Fitzgerald. Francois Chesser, 26, and Daniel Clark, 25, both of Waukegan, were charged with residential burglary and theft in that case. In addition to keeping an eye on their neighborhoods, Chief Artis Yancey said he encourages people to establish a neighborhood watch program. Anyone interested in starting a program is asked to call the department's Community Services Division at (847) 599-2586. Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - kellyann1293 - 10-15-2009 I would like to know who or what determines what crimes the city reports to CrimeReports. Most of the events I hear about never seem to make it: http://www.crimereports.com/map?search= ... ton=SEARCH Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - Frankzilch - 10-15-2009 kellyann1293 Wrote:Come on Frank, it's no different than neighborhood watch. I said I was overly sensitive to that elitist crap. Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - kellyann1293 - 10-15-2009 Spare me, Frank. I'm tired of being labeled "elitist" for thinking that there is too much crime in my neighborhood. Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - nowinvolved - 10-15-2009 Thanks for the information everyone. I had no idea. I know many of us live in the area described. I wonder what time of day these are happening. I never labeled anyone, especially you, an elitist for thinking there is too much crime in their neighborhood. I'd never do that. You'd make a good republican with that kind of spin. :? Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - Waukegan6th - 10-16-2009 She is a good Republican. I mean that sincerely in that she has the best interests of her community at heart. Also, the break-ins seem to be happening at night while people are at home (which is the scariest thing). Re: Historic Neighborhood Burglaries - weasel - 10-18-2009 I hear that Suzie Q on Sheridan Road was the reason behind the big 6th ward meeting last week. You know Suze⦠Her link to Waukegan high society buys that big old place on the east side of the street where all the swells live, and then starts P.O.ing her neighbors by telling them she doesnât like this about their yard or that about their new roof. Throw in that âwho was plowing their drivewayâ brouhaha ⦠Well, you can be sure that the police will be keeping a close eye on La Casa Grande. The rest of us are SOL when it comes to quick response time. BTW. The cops are headed for the 600 block of Franklin for a mass punch out in the street. The report said 50 individuals involved, but thatâs probably an exaggeration. Just a few minutes ago there was another big fight call at the Buffalo Wild Wings out at Fountain Square. Yes the nightlife in Waukegan. The scary part is itâs just 30 degrees out there and itâs not slowing these bums down one bit! Itâs going to be a long, cold, violent winter. What a shame that she only gets concerned when it affects herself. I hope Terry gets elected Lt. Gov., because she'd love to be a Queen Bee is Springfield where she'd get more "sting," for her snobbiness. |
