Re: Waukegan Water??? - kirsty - 03-03-2009

I am still waiting for official notification. A friend of mine, who has four kids like myself, phoned this morning. She'd only just heard about it on the radio.

How is it possible that half of the city heard and half did not? Could City Hall have done more? Please don't tell me it is not their responsibility....

this is another example of the people in charge falling down on the job

maybe it doesn't matter to mayor hyde, because wadsworth is not included in the ban.
perhaps if he lived in waukegan he would be more concerned.

why were the alderman not instructed to contact people in their wards?

just another reason for a change.

My daughter told me about it after school yesterday. The schools covered all the fountains etc., and made an announcement about why they were covered. Good to see the schools act quickly on that one!

i have heard that a neighboring city notified EACH and EVERY household using a flyer in the front doorways.

our leaders couldn't bother. this time it worked out for the best, but it could have been much worse

I've just been notified by my alderman that the boil order has been lifted. Notification is also on the city's website.

I just checked the city website and they still have a boil order till 3.4.09.

Re: Waukegan Water??? - kellyann1293 - 03-03-2009

Try refreshing your browser. When I look at the site, I see a "Tap water boil order has been lifted" image on the lower left side, right under the 150-year graphic.

Re: Waukegan Water??? - fintan1010 - 03-03-2009

boy, i can relax now because larry tenpas got around to letting me know that the order has been lifted. to bad he never let me know about the order in the first place. i told him the way the city handled this was "shameful".

what would we have done if this was a real danger?

why wasn't our fine mayor on 'KRS discussing this health hazard first thing this morning?

consider this a bullet dodged.

Was Tenpas running around his ward notifying everyone? I smell damage control.
