There is a newish restaurant on Lewis Avenue in the strip mall by the old Franklin Foods. I think it used to be a Chinese restaurant.
Has anyone tried their food yet? Soul 4 Real.

Yes! My husband and I went on Friday night. Sad to see so few there. The food was very good. The service was excellent. We had the catfish and it was a perfect crispness with subtle, but flavorful seasonings. The cornbread was wonderful. If you are interested in some good home style cookin', this is the place. It was nice to have a different place to go right here in Waukegan. Wishing Soul 4 Real success and recommend that others try it. I will definitely go back.

I've been a few times and I really like it!
It's definately home cooking.
Ingredients seem fresh too.
They still may be pulling together
other ends of the business, but when it comes to the cooking
and the prices... NICE.
I'm not a food snob or expert though so check it out for yourself.
The smothered pork chops are almost a daily special....
I really like the spaghetti too...
yams... greens... mashed potatoes...
peach cobbler... chicken salad...
chicken.... ribs...
Almost for the same amount of money as I can spend at a drive thru,
HERE, you walk out with lots of good home cooked food...
I've added it to my rotation.

Hey, just got a coupon tonight from Soul 4 Real. One is for a $1 off $9.99 rotisserie chicken/includes 2 med. sides & 4 corn bread muffins and the other is buy one regular dinner item and get one 1/2 off.
Two good recommendations above, thanks!!

I'm just going to try it for myself because my Sister said the food was horrifying. The person who owns it used to be a Manager at Waukegan's Popeye's.
