The current administration needs to draw the line in the tand on these gang mambers and all around bad kids. These are kids with one or two credits and are nineteen years old ruining it for everyone else. Call the superintendent and demand discipline from the administration, and the school will be just fine. Trust me if the right attitude towards discipline was put in place the school would perform well above what it is doing. There are great kids and families---its time to demand discipline and organization in the school.
I'll take that response and raise you one. I blame the entire community, myself included. Bruce, as you know what it was like in our youth, there was no way this happens in 1980's Waukegan.
This is a shame on us moment, to have allowed some very incredible and diverse young men and ladies punished (using it loosely), for the actions of a few. There has to be a collaborative effort by the City govt., the schools, the parks, etc to find a way to end this disruptive pest, and build the schools and my hometown greater than it once was.
Straying a bit, but bear with me. We would not have this dramatic of layoffs, etc with the city govt, if we had an overachieving school district. This entire city's best interest should be focussed on improving the schools. This is a dead horse being mutilated, I know, but it is how we could keep our own brilliant children here, instead of shipping them off to Carmel. Safety of the children is so important, and I know it was a disappointing decision that was made.
I'll not finger point, it always seems to come back at me. My question I ask myself," What have I done to make this better?"
My answer, is not much. But I will soon be able to answer that question differently.
Sad the kids missed out on some good, clean fun.
