Glad this gang of thieves was caught. Not only did they take people's things they took their peace of mind about their homes and safety. Surely they will get time because of the amount of burglaries and the handgun that was found in the car. Hope so. I'm going to go try to find that pawn shop thread I posted awhile back. Wonder if these 'kids' brought the goods there.
On the News Sun website there is this article on the right and then an article about cutting the police staff on the left.

WAUKGAN -- Police have arrested eight people in connection with nearly 20 residential burglaries on the city's north side.
The arrests followed a residential burglary report around 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of Walnut Street. Investigating officers saw a vehicle that matched a description of the suspects' vehicle in the area of Sunset Avenue and Delaware Road.
A subsequent traffic stop revealed items taken in the burglary on Walnut Street, as well as a handgun that was taken from a past burglary, police Lt. Ed Fitzgerald said.
Police arrested two adults and a juvenile at the scene. An investigation later revealed that those three and five others were involved in 18 burglaries around Waukegan since February, Fitzgerald said. All face counts of burglary or possession of stolen property.
"This was good, heads-up police work by uniformed officers, and diligent follow-up investigation by the investigations division," said Police Chief Artis Yancey. "Residents of Waukegan can take pride in the effort put forth by their police department."
Those arrested were: Kevin Mejia, 17, of the 2600 block of Atlantic; Jesus Briseno, 17, of the 1400 block of Metropolitan; Krystal Sifuentes, 18, of the 500 block of Fourth Street, Sergio Sifuentes, 24, of the 500 block of Fourth Street; Eric Estrada, 17, of the 3300 block of Stonegate; and Gerardo Alvarez, 17, of the 3300 block of Stonegate. Two 16-year-olds were also charged.
Stolen items included TVs, alcohol, video games and jewelry. Some items have been recovered.
