I wish the city and all good friends and family of Mr. Washington my condolances and good memories of his time amongst you.

May he find peace and rest in his next life.

I can imagine Angelo Kyle and Terry Link shouting: "Thank You, Jesus!"

I agree, Black Diamond. TypesWithFist's comment is very inappropriate
and shocking at such a tragic time as this.

Some people, BD, are so very mean and power-hungry, all they can think about
is political gamesmanship even at such a devastating time as this; then to make
light of the the holy name of The Lord and Christ Himself is truly vile and profane.

Absoultely deplorable and totally reprehensible are TypesWithFist comments.
BD, it is so sad that some people are just so full of wicked, dark hate.

Enough. This is a time of mourning for the loss of a great and noble man
of color who built his entire life and career on serving others, of being The People's Advocate,
even "...unto the least of these...."

Since 2003, for seven years Eddie Washington has been our legally and publicly elected
Representative in Springfield to speak on our behalf to Our Government. He was a
bold pioneer and new path maker, fearless and always dedicated to the
High Calling of Public Service at its Best.

Such an untimely passing cannot be morally celebrated by People of Conscience
and Good Will.

Rather, for the vast majority of us with The Light in our hearts rather than
The Darkness, this is a time of horrendous loss and utter deep sadness.

Well. BD. you know it's true.

Kyle ran against Eddie with Link's support, twice. L

ink detested Eddie, the plain simple truth.

For them it's all about gaining power and control.

Those who are sanctifying Eddie Washington, because he died are mostly hypocrits manuevering for whatever political advantage they might gainout of the situation.

As for WT, he was on the wrong side and will not be brought back in from the cold.

Dear TypesWithFist:

You are one pitiful, dark soul.

This is neither the time nor place for such diagloue as yours, has nothing to do with "manuevering" or being on whatever "wrong side" your angry, revengeful, unrelenting petty mind so wrongly perceives.

Rather this is about a noble and great man, and a time to deeply mourn and remember him, this man being State Representative Eddie Washington.

I am reminded at this very moment, on the 42nd eve of the tragic fall of another great man, Robert F. Kennedy, of what his brother Ted said at his eulogy:

"My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life, to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it. Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the world.

As he said many times, in many parts of this nation, to those he touched and who sought to touch him:

"Some men see things as they are and say why.
I dream things that never were and say why not."

State Rep. Eddie Washington likewise was like such " ...a good and decent man...."

Oh my goodness, WT is attacking the poster, rather than the contents of of the post. I think we can say--HYPOCRIT.

Get control of yourself, take a valium.

Typeswithfist, people CARED about Eddie Washington.

I find it disrespectful, low and utterly unappropriate to attck and remember him in this way.
Even though you supported the other guy, can you not at least show some respect?

Or do your mind does not allow such a thing?
