A Tale of Two Letters

A Tale of Two Letters

The first one is what was printed in today's News-Sun. The second is what was sent to them. What a bunch of First Amendment betraying fools.

I'd like to thank the volunteers at Taskforce On Waukegan Neighborhoods for the Internet forum they have provided for free use by the public.

For six-plus years the forum has been an excellent source for breaking news and a vehicle to shed light on and counter a less-than-open city of Waukegan government.

The existence of this forum, without a doubt, led to a more informed and enlightened citizenry. What a positive and patriotic contribution! Thomas Jefferson would have approved.

I understand this forum has ceased to exist. This is saddening.

I understand this forum has ceased to exist. This is saddening. But there is a bright side to this sad news... that being the birth of a new internet forum for the city of Waukegan. Yes, a generous Waukegan citizen has voluntarilly started a new forum to take up where the old forum left off. It can be found at: http://www.wauktalk.com and it is called Waukegan Talk. So please visit this open public forum where, unlike Waukegan City Council Meetings, you won't get arrested for expressing yourself.

I have just posted the exact same letter to the Daily Herald. We shall wait and see if the Daily Herald honors our hard won right to freedom of expression.

Absolutely Amazing Danno. And one of the many reasons I gave up reading the News Sun years ago!
Thanks for not being afraid to speak your mind & for trying to make a difference in Waukegan.

Hey Danno!
Yes the News-Sun 'edits' a lot out of 'letters to the editor'. When Fred had his conference, I wrote in, they only printed parts of the letter, not the whole thing. I hope the Daily Herald does a better job of getting your letter out! Thanks for all you do!

I just received word from a fellow wauktalk member that my letter to the editor has been published in the Daily Herald. Unlike the News-Sun they have not edited it at all. Let this serve as an example of what an utter piece of crap the News-Sun is. What a pitiful shame and disgrace. I hope you read this Mr Selle. You are pathetic.
