This video is over one and a half hours long. At least just watch the first few minutes which give a synopsis of the entirety.

You may need to move the slider, like I had to, to get it started.

The solution to the problems of humanity, at least in this point in time, lie in allowing our unique ability and talent in science and technology to fully blossom. Our current systems does not allow that to take place.

This is just one of the many bits of wisdom that are presented in that movie:

"The tremendous and still accelerating developement of science and technology has not been accompanied by an equal developement in social, econimic, and political patterns... it is safe to predict that... such social inventions as modern-type capitalism, fascism, and communism will be regarded as primative experiments directed toward the adjustment of modern society to modern methods". - Dr. Ralph Linton

Contract labor is cheaper due to lack of benefits. Not that lowering working folks benefits is a good thing. It just the way of the world.

I wonder why the city did not hire workers who are unemployed. There are bound to be men or women who are unemployed and have some skill in Gardening. You could subsidise the work, and if the work is very good, you could keep them on call to do more landscaping.
