   One good thing about this Country---the freedom to vote for whoever you want. Did all of the other Presidents serve in the Military? I served, so does that make me a good candidate? Wink

Hey wths74--CNN showed the black McClain's in the news today. His brother attends the family reunion, but NOT the Candidate. It was very interesting. But this is common--from slavery to cousins. Wink We're all related in some form or fashion, regardless of Party affiliation

Good to be free, agreed! There were eight to ten Presidents that never served before elected. Every one of them with the exception of Clinton has served since 1920's , if I'm not mistaken. Having served gives a candidate a better idea of how to lead the most powerful military in the world, imho. So I would have to say you are more qualified in that respect than the Democratic nominee :?

I just voted at St. John's Church. Voting was like a well oiled machine. No long lines to wait in, just a steady flow of voters... and nice election judges doing their thing. A very good experience, I must say!
So the election is nearly over - but its not time to stop praying for America!

I know you are joking but I am afraid many of those out there are thinking that way for real. They think if they vote for Obama then the government will take care of them. They are going to be a little disappointed when that doesn't happen.
I think if Obama wins (and I think he will - I have already resigned myself to that) personal responsibility will take a hit. He really is a socialist at heart. He thinks it okay to re-distribute income. Take from those that produce and "spread it around" to those that don't produce.

I am only hope that we can all survive this. We survived FDR and LBJ so we will probably survive this as well. I only hope the damage won't be that bad. If he wins and there is a super majority of democrats in both houses of congress that means he can push thru any liberal agenda he wants. There won't be any checks and balances.

Oh well, we will see. McCain could pull it off but I don't think that will happen.

 I don't think anyone would be that ignorant to think that. There are enough "Freddie the free loaders" already. Looking at the folks in Grant Park, the majority of the people were "white". wths74--it is what it is. I wish I could have been standing next to Jessie Jackson while he was crying, I would have slapped him up side his head. I also wondered if Oprah thought she was going to get some kind of recognition.? The little man making the calls and knocking on doors won President Elect Obama the nomination. I, personally never thought it would happen in my life time. I believe that God makes final decisions. Mr. McCain gave a beautiful and stirring speech and I believed every word he said. 10-4

I will never understand this town. I can't wait until I get out of here in 9 years (and counting!). The people of Waukegan/Lake County just mark the D box without researching the candidates! Link, Washington, Hewitt...
what the hell are they thinking?? Things are going so well we vote for more of the same??
I am so disgusted. I can't believe George Bridges lost, either.
Oh, well- had to vent.
