A "poster" named Grover said they would take the dog if it isn't claimed.

One other thought Danno...have you taken it into a vet to have it scanned for a chip? Most will help you out for free (animal control might do it as well). Just make sure they check not only the neck but down the shoulders and even under the elbow as some types of chips migrate.

Thanks for taking care of this little guy. You're the best Smile

Yeah, I brought her to Waukegan Animal Control and they scanned her for a microchip. They checked all over and didn't find one. I may have something going with the Miniature Schnauzer Rescue people. There are some much more dedicated dog lovers out there than I. It's easy to be callous to an animals plight but it's hard to ignore once you get to know that animal.

Thanks NSK. A couple from crystal lake is coming out tomorrow to look at her. I have a strong feeling they are leaving with her. I'll update soon.

The dog was just reunited with her owners a few minutes ago and just a couple of hours before her adoption was to take place. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions ...even the culinary ones.

One thing bothered me about this whole thing and it has to do with the city. The owners told me they called Waukegan Animal Control and reported their minature schnauzer lost. They told me that Animal Control told them they did not take in or had heard anything about a found miniature schnauzer. Just days before the owners reported her lost I had done just that.... reported a found miniature schnauzer.... even brought her in to be scanned for a microchip. Waukegan Animal Control is not doing a very good job. I certainly won't trust what they tell me from now on.
