Bruce, An unpopular view...........
The current school board, board attorney and administration are the problem. The new slate is running with a current board member. Therefore, the new slate partially consists of the current school board and two candidates that have closely aligned themselves with the current board. They cannot run as outsiders because they are either an insider already or running with an insider. Everyone should stop putting their hopes into candidates for office because anyone elected to these offices or appointed by them will soon become corrupt without true watchdogs. The only hope the district has is for its citizens to rise up and do their job as citizens. Anyone, including myself, that stands up individually will be the victim of attacks on your civil rights by the current board, board attorney and administration. I have enough evidence to hold all of these people responsible for crimes if and only if they were first investigated by the citizens, held publicly accountable, and then those citizens had the courage to go to the states's attorney and do the same thing to them. The problem in the current climate is that not only are citizens that try to do their job attacked by the school board, board attorney and administration, they are also attacked by groups or individuals that on one hand claim to be watchdogs of the school system but in reality are actually their biggest protectors. If you go to the Lake County State's Attorney you will be told that their friends on the board, board attorney and administration could not possibly have done anything wrong and they will refuse to look at evidence. When we the citizens protect our elected and appointed officials by refusing to do our civic duty, why would any of us expect that someone else would do what we are not willing to do ourselves? If we the citizens do not have the guts do protect our children, ourselves or our families or our community from officials we put in office and can also remove from office, do we really expect the officials to police themselves? Ethics is about doing what needs to be done even when you are unwilling to pay the price. We have proven ourselves unethical as citizens. We the citizens need to have the guts to do the right thing even when it will initially or ultimately cost us more then we are willing to pay. The founding fathers put this country in our hands and the majority of us have proven ourselves unworthy to recieve such a great country! If we don't fix these issues, do we really expect that anyone else will? Or are we hoping that our children will have more guts than we do? Without a team of citizens that have the courage to investigate all allegations and hold our elected and appointed officials to the highest standards - publicly - nothing will change. I recommend that we form a true watchdog board of at least 10 or more members willing to dig into all of these allegations and get to the bottom and willing to follow up publicly and with the appropriate authority.

There is a board meeting on Tuesday. What if we try to get as many people as possible to attend and ask some important questions? How about providing handouts to the audience and newspapers? Any interest?
