It's The Pensions, Stupid
#3
Dear goodintentions, This list is true, and it is only the top 100. Yes, there are entry level and part time teachers earning base pay, but what happens to the pay scale and pension benefits as the years of service increase? Our state is in deep financial trouble and the guaranteed pensions and retirement benefits of state and local funded employees is unsustainable. I will leave you with this thought: When I am able to pick up and move, I will surely do so. If we don't fix this mess soon, the citizens that remain will soon find that no one wants to buy into this state and assume financial responsibility for the promises made by our 'well- meaning' elected officials that have squandered our tax dollars to gain the political support of public employee unions. Mr. Zettler is providing the facts; what is the teachers union telling you? You have probably lost at least 20% of the former value of your home, if you are a homeowner. What do you suppose comes next? If you are grounded in reality.
