It basically says that some people have their heads up their asses because the technology now exists to produce electricity in much cleaner ways than nuclear. Because of the waste products involved, nuclear production of electricity is not a sustainable process that can go on for the duration of the planet. There are processes than are sustainable but there is opposition to them. You run into that kind of opposition when profits are at stake so it really is all about money. Oil , coal and nuclear are favored because the scarcity of them can be controlled more easily. When a much needed commodity is made scarce it can become insanely profitable. It's harder to make wind, sunlight, geothermal heat or ocean waves scarce.
