Well said; you make very many valid points.
How can someone who only had approx. $350,000 in his coffier out-advertise someone with $3,000,000? Cohen won this race because he could afford to buy ad time on TV & radio...and his commercials were well done. I was ready to go get a job with "Scott Lee Cohen," since this was the only thing his commercials focused on...they were obviously very effective.
But look a little closer...Cohen was the only person running ads with such gusto. He was "sure" to win, as he was in our faces the entire time. America, with a few exceptions, has become a society of lemurs...following around the person in front of them and doing what they do. Politics is America is disappointing...and it's only going to get worse.
Terry Link my be seen as a hometown good-ole-boy, but I personally give him props for trying. I don't see anyone else in Waukegan sticking their necks out for a higher office. Is he perfect? Of course not. Is anyone? Of course not.
Good try Terry. Thanks for running a clean campaign. There are many who are proud of you and what you have brought to Waukegan.
Now...what to do with Cohen. Poor democratic party...they're f****d if Cohen stays on the ballot.
