The re-instating of the boys HS swim team is a great example of a small group of citizens working to make the schools a better place for the kids to be. It happened by one parent getting out and talking to other parents and asking them to step forward.
I was at several of the school board meeting where this was discussed and not everyone who talked was even from Waukegan, but they all were ready to stand to make it a better place and to make sure Waukegan kids had the same opportunities as other kids in the area.
More should follow this example and not let "no" be the final answer.
