Dear Grover, The City of Waukegan Government is not unlike our Federal Government, in that, they believe in misguided social engineering and development philosophies. Local taxpayers should never have been put on the hook for their "cart before the horse" development strategies. Virtually every development decision they have made over the last 20 years has done nothing but increased our indebtedness, without any real progress towards improvement( I'm being kind here.) What Waukegan needs is a City Council that understands the demographics of our community and in turn gets about the business of returning respectability and law and order to our once prosperous, blue collar community. I have had major disagreements, in the past, with the local politicos, and I have since moved on because, like you, I eventually realized none of these people want to listen to, or debate, issues that have plagued this community for decades.
