(chuckling) It's funny when people think you're one person...and then you're really not!
No, this isn't Marilyn. I'm assuming you're taking about Marilyn Miosio (sp?). I never met her; don't know her at all. Her son is the alderman, right? I think I'm actually young enough to be her daughter.
But let's get back to the original question...Who are folks we can back in the 6th Ward that would make us proud to be residents of this ward?!
Come on people...everybody knows this is the nicest Ward in Waukegan...am I right? There are other beautiful pockets here and there; I used to live in one in the 9th Ward-very nice. But decided the only way I was going to remain in Waukegan was if I found a home in the 6th Ward...and thankfully, we did!
Now, when it's time for the next election, who can we vote into office?
TenPas is overall good people...had him as a driving teacher back in the day...but is he helping the ward? Is he helping the city remain classy? Is he promoting positive business (aka things other than liquor stores and taquerias?) What has Ald. Tenpas done for the ward lately?
Who has expressed interest in running? Anyone? Anyone?
If no one speaks up, it looks like I'll just have to run against him! I've got youth, and with youth comes energy, fresh ideas, new perspective and drive. I love the city of Waukegan...had the choice of any other town to live in, but decided to stay here. I know others who are just as passionate as I am...and have more experience who would probably make a better candidate than me. I'm in my 30's and actively involved in this town. I get to city council meetings and see how they're run. Frankly, I'm not happy at what I see! We are being forced to sell out and grab at straws...to me, this is unacceptable. This city has so much potential...we just need the right people to start tapping into it.
