I have read all of the posts and can sum the state of the City of Waukegan Politics up in one sentence, maybe two.
"There is zero legitimacy among any of our leaders, a quality that is necessary for effective leadership. When uneducated good ole boys have control, this is what happens, yielding a lost constituency"
That's just my take on it. Granted, Hyde had his faults. Many of his decisions, I disagreed with. The idea of deliverance from Hydonomics to Sabonjionomics was greeted with open arms and maybe too readily. Investigation into his past and clear eyes was overlooked. Did Mayor S come into a bad situation? Probably. Caused by Hyde? Partly. The question remains, what happens now that another era has taken office with the same City Council? There is clearly a divide between the Aldermen and Mayor S. With this in mind 4 months into a 4 year stint, what hopes can we have of progress or will the regression continue?
