Consider these factors as a basis for comparison, all factors are found in both areas: Numerous empty store fronts, numerous empty lots, numerous empty, abandoned or foreclosed homes, double digit unemployment, impoverished school system, high incident of crime, high incident of gang and drug related crime. Those are the few that I could come up with. Also, near the area of this shooting there was another shooting a few days later about the same time.
Used to do a lot of work at Madison and Kedzie on the West side. I carried my hammer every step of the way. I'm sorry sir, or ma'am, there is no comparison between the two. Waukegan is heaven compared to the gloom that is Chicago's West side.
