"There they go again...CREW thinks they got Bob elected, but it was ordinary citizens tired of nothing happening. CREW's impact was only amongst their little elite friends."
Seems like the ordinary citizens should be paying attention to what is happening in the Mayor's office now as well as CREW.
The more eyes on the situation, the more concerned individuals participating, the better.
You can occupy yourself with who did what all day long; if you truly feel that is the best way to spend your time.
The fact is CREW did help get Sabonjian elected, as did the Hispanic vote that mobilized, as did the ordinary citizens tired of nothing happening, as did Sabonjian's family and friends, as did disgruntled City employees, as did individuals with personal signage directed at Hyde, as did the majority of those who voiced their opinion by voting for Mayor in the last election. To discount ANY of the efforts put forth discounts them all.
This unfortunately is why Waukegan is what it is. Instead of banding together to find common cause; it is far more typical to point fingers and segregate. We are seeing that segregation now at City Hall and with the Council / Mayor relationship.
The topic of this thread is so very valid and concerning. That is what we should be concentrating on.
