The city of waukegan and district 60 are two different taxing bodies THE CITY RUNS THE CITY THE SCHOOL DISTRICT RUNS THE SCHOOLS
The Mayor went there taught there and coached there. so how is he jumping on any band wagon? The only way the schools will change is the school board election.

The city runs the city, not the schools. Duh. Mayor Hyde has told us that a zillion times himself. So why attach the name of the team to your political signs for re-election? Practice what you preach and keep the two separate. If you want to celebrate the schools success (and we all should) then put up banners elsewhere; decorate the whole town if necessary BUT NOT ATTACHED TO POLITICAL SIGNS FOR YOUR RE-ELECTION. Already his scheme has worked. How can anyone possibly criticize him - an attack at him is an attack at the WHS team.

Actually City Hall may not run the schools, but any mayor who buries his head in the sand over the schools (i.e. the current one) is ignorant at best. Good schools are the thing that will save Waukegan. As pointed out above, poor schools will not attract new families or businesses. Having a good basketball team is not enough. The mayor can use his city hall pulpit to make the schools, hospitals and other Waukegan disasters HIS business; instead, he chooses to ignore these problems.
