An alleged gang member from Waukegan accused of sexually abusing a Chicago teenage girl he met on MySpace appeared in bond court Thursday.
Angel Acosta, 21, of the 600 block of South Jackson Street in Waukegan was ordered held on a $500,000 bond Thursday by a Cook County judge, according to Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Natalie Howse.
Acosta was charged late Wednesday with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to police.
Acosta met a 15-year-old girl on MySpace.com in July 2008. On Jan. 25, Acosta and the girl agreed to meet in the area of Irving Park Road and Ashland Avenue at 7:30 a.m. The girl got into Acosta's vehicle and he began kissing her, and then sexually assaulted her, court records indicate.
On Tuesday, the girl and Acosta agreed to meet again to end any further contact.
They met about 7:30 a.m. at Irving Park Road and Ashland Avenue, where Acosta tried to kiss her. She refused but he sexually assaulted her again and threatened to come after her and beat her if she told anyone, court records indicate.
The girl got out of the Acosta's vehicle and went to school where she told a classmate about the alleged assault.
