Actually thats birth-date of the GOP astroturf influence. The GOP promoted the small government less tax sentiment to get the Dems but down play the anti war, pro civil liberties and anti drug war libertarian roots of the tea party. Sad really tea baggers don't even realize that Fox news and the GOP have co-opted their movement. I mean CPAC votes for Ron Paul in the straw poll, but greet big government anti-liberty Cheney like a rock star? Very schizophrenic group.

The sad thing is your and the liberal mainstream media's infantile use of a derogatory slang termhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teabaggingto refer to a large and rapidly growing patriotic movement whose only goal is to try to save their country before it is too late. I think the real tragedy lies with the National Democratic Party for allowing itself to be co-opted by the Progressive movement. But alas, that tragedy will conclude November 2, 2010. Long live the good Americans who are the Teaparty. P.S. I guess the official February 27, 2009 birth date on my Teaparty link didn't matter to you as your video was clearly dated 2007. Furthermore, CPAC stands for Conservative Political Action Committee. You really shouldn't make up your own facts if your goal is credibility. Harold Beadling

It cracks me up when I hear someone say that they are a conservative with libertarian leanings. You can't pick and choose what and where you want government interference. Either you want the government to interfere in your life or you don't. The Teaparty, like any other popular movements get co-opted by those who need to exploit and deceive. It just part of our inherently corrupt system... always will be as long as the system continues. What makes me want to puke are those self righteous narrowly minded moralistic individuals who think they have some exclusive path to patriotism.

You two( Danno, gmg77) are the very first disgruntled Teapartiers I have ever come across. I guess you were confused by their, OBVIOUS, non-partisan goals. I guess you'll always have Keith and Rachel and Lawrence and Chris and... Wait a minute! Aren't their ratings in the toilet? You can always watch Wolf Blitzer and the rest of the gang at CNN. Wait a minute! Aren't their ratings in the toilet, too?

Actually you need to know your history. And I thought right wingers hated "political correct" censorship.

My point was the date 2-27-09 isn't really accurate and as early as 2007 the tea party had begun with Ron Paul in the primary. The "birthdate" marks when the GOP establishment gained control of the message with money and propaganda in order to fight the new democratic party control of the white house. Every political party changes over time and I would hope the Tea Party Patriots could reform the weak Republican party from the inside to a more libertarian less neocon world view. I think alot of Americans would like less waste and corruption in Washington, so I hope the tea party is not duped into another unfulfilled contract with america.

And Ill leave you with this... : )

gmg, I attended the 9/12 march on Washington last September and I can say for certain that nobody had a sign that said teabagging on it. That would be pretty naive. However, I would bet a dollar to a donut that the woman in your picture, is probably a mentally unstable, but religious, hooker looking to make a few extra bucks on a sunny day. If you would like to prove a point to yourself, the northern il. patriots are having a meeting tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at the american legion on grand avenue and milwaukee ave., across the street from the avalon restaurant. You should come out and see for yourself what they are all about. They usually draw 40-50 people, which is about 30 more than either political party in Waukegan ever drew. Psssst! I want to warn you that you may see some people of color there, but it turns out that they are just as pleasant and level-headed as the rest of the group. Harold Beadling

I'll tell you who she is. Someone's Mother, Sister, Daughter, and so on. I think your description of her was cruel. :o

Thanks for the warning, but I am afraid of "people of color" unlike you who find them surprisingly "pleasant and level headed". Man you really show your true colors in that post, keep wearing your friends race as a badge of courage.

By the time fox news 9/12 project was occurring the majority of tea partiers had been made well aware the dual meaning of tea bagging.

How come your club isn't named The Northern il. Tea Party Patriots, could it be the negative connotation "tea party" gets in the media? The point of the tea-bagging article I linked is you need to own the insult not hide from it.
