Why the fighting at Waukegan High School .. late Jan 2010 ?
#1
Every morning for the last few days I have picked up the NEWS-SUN and seen reports about troubling fighting at
Waukegan High School.

The first link below is to the banner headline story in the NEWS-SUN on Friday, January 29, 2010..in which
Waukegan Mayor Robert Sabonjian is now commenting upon recent Waukegan High School fighting:

The next link below is to the banner headline story in the NEWS-SUN on Saturday, January 30, 2010 (today) about various
aspsects of recent Waukegan High School fighing ...

I find all of this very confusing. I cannot tell from the newspaper reportage above what the fighting is about.

Is about bullying ? Rival gangs? Why does it appear that some of our Waukegan High School basketball players are
also allegedly involved in these fights?

Where is the Waukegan School Board? Where is the Waukegan School Superintendent, Dr. Bastiste? Why does the Mayor
of Waukegan have to become involved with all of this now? Have these Waukegan High School fights so spun out of
control that now the City of Waukegan itself, our municipal government, must become involved?

Anyone know ?

Peer pressure used to make a difference, I can't believe I am quoting this history by experience but, 40 to 50 years ago, pre-hyphenation America, we used to get along pretty well. I'm speaking only for my home town, North Chicago. It seems that the solution to the problem is more dreary multi-cultural, group think, find your own meaning in your studies education, for all the unwashed masses. Don't worry about a thing, the Progressives are now in full power. They will provide for all your needs. Harold Beadling
