As far as irrelevant goes I meant irrelevant to the gist of my initial post, not irrelevant overall.
And I agree that it's not irrelevant in general, except that I'm not sure voting one way or another would make a difference in this particular issue. I'm sure it can be easilly checked how the vote on this statute went down with in terms of party and I would bet it wasn't one sided.
I think the main problem is that "We the People" are a bunch of sheep who are afraid to stand up to the perceived absolute power of authority. We sometimes think that once a law is passed there in nothing we can do about it. We are far too accepting of what they foist upon us. We tend to forget that ultimately WE wield the power to effect such change and not just through our votes but also through our protest and by exercizing our right to expression.
