Keith Olbermann? Jon Stewart? Bill O'Reilly crushes them in the ratings at the 7:00 p.m. primetime slot, as does Glenn Beck's 3,000,000+ draw at 3:00 p.m. eastern time. Oh, if they only didn't have to compete with one another. Maybe Keith or Jon should move to 3:00 p.m. eastern time to compete with Glenn Beck. Keith's next move is probably out the door after the fall election when corporate America begins investing their advertising budget on the only fair and balanced news network in America today: FoxNews I think Keith and Rachel should get married. What do you think? Hey, why don't we pull our minds together and find someone for Ed,too.

Ratings or popularity are rather meaningless. Just because you are popular does not mean you are right. For instance, Adolph Hitler had millions of followers but that didn't make him right, did it?

I regularly listen to both the Rachel Madow Show and The Keith Olbermann Show on MSNBC cable. I like them both, and my thought is that both are very well informed, very bright and present an objective progressive view.

For alternative media, I find Alex Jones on the internet more informed, more articulate and thought-provoking than Beck or O'Reilly. Between Madow/Olbermann and Alex Jones, I feel I get a good balance of current information.

Deal is that often, both Madow/Olbermann and Jones are addressing the same issues and same concerns, such as deep questioning about The Fed, surveillance of citizens by government, advocacy for the middle class, working people and those in poverty. Also, all three expose corrupt global corporations, banks, the big medical/insurance industry and callous government.

As the idiom states, "where there is smoke, there is fire." Different commentators coming from different perspectives often talking about essentially the same issues. Definite reason for further reflection and thoughtful review.

I find Alex Jones about as bad as Glenn Beck. His motives may be different than Beck's but he has the same selective and intentional disregard for the truth. He allows his religious beliefs to cloud logical thinking. He also is obsessed with making everything a conspiracy.
