What is the gereal opinion on the two campuses? I think it is going to be for the better. Just curious what the people think about this. Shouldnt we also be thinking about building our own tech campus for the students who want to go into that area? I think three campuses would be ideal for Waukegan.

I think the two schools is going to be great as it will lower numbers at each school!! Where would they build a tech camp. if they could? That would be a great idea, like the one they built in Zion! Are the wo schools seperate? I mean, will both schools have their own athletics and such??

I think they should add a tech campus as the third branch to the high school. Still one school with three campuses.

I hate to bring this up, but we used to have a tech campus...well at least a tech program. Early 80's it shifted out to Grayslake.

Waukegna at one time was one of the best schools around (50's and 60's). What happened?

The information im getting is that the freshmen class is bigger then expected. Less kids being able to afford Carmal and St. Joes?
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERNCE AS TAX PAYERS , DEMAND THE SCHOOL BOARD TO HIRE SOMEONE WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INVESTIGATING THE STUDENT BODY AND KICK THE KIDS OUT WHO DO NOT LIVE IN THE DISTRICT! Trust me....there are probably 200-300 students (at the HS) who have been kicked out of Zion, N.Chicago, and various other schools who show up on Waukegans door step and our beloved Lincoln Center does not look into residency at all. Warren has a Dean who's sole responsibility is to do this! Why cant we? This would be a huge first step into getting control of our schools.
The tax payers take on the burden of this!!!!!

This is true. I had a student two years ago whose mom took her out of Warren because she was having "problems." The girl was a trouble maker. She used grandma's Waukegan address to attend Waukegan, although she physically lived in Gurnee. She caused tons of problems at Waukegan, and went straight back to Warren after first semester.
Be cautious though of students who have one parent in Waukegan, and one in another city. This seems to be a common theme. The student moves back and fourth between parents. If the parent or legal guardian lives in Waukegan, that student has the right to attend WHS.

Everyone understands that. Im talking about the kids who do NOT have residency in Waukegan. Any student who is also going back in forth needs to be looked at also to make sure they are going to the right school legally. This situation is hurting our schools and the taxpayers. I cant believe this is not addressed with the school board and the superintendent.
