Waukegan schools revise 'bell' times
#1
Just a head's up if it makes a difference in your schedules for next year. The school site doesn't say which schools will be at which start time yet at the WPS 60 site. Guess we can call the principal's on Monday. If anyone sees notice of this they can post it.

Waukegan schools revise 'bell' times

May 30, 2009
NEWS-SUN STAFF REPORT

WAUKEGAN -- Waukegan Unit School District 60 has revised start and end times for elementary and middle schools for the 2009-10 school year.

The new "bell" times are being implemented in conjunction with the new Neighborhood Schools initiative, which is expected to trim $1.7 million from the district's busing costs.

The revised schedule will be as follows:

Middle School: 7:25 a.m. staff start time; 7:45 a.m. student start time; 2:18 p.m. end time

Early Elementary: 8:15 a.m. staff start time; 8:35 a.m. student start time; 2:58 p.m. end time

Late Elementary: 8:55 a.m. staff start time; 9:15 a.m. student start time; 3:38 p.m. end time

For more information, residents should contact the building principal at their children's school, or visit: http://www.wps60.org.

don't see why the middle school delinguents start early and get out early. They should have the late start and late dismisal so they have less time to get in trouble in the afternoons.

Does anyone know what the start and end times are for the high school?

I believe the HS keeps the same time!

Isn't the middle school times start later?

In any case, I saw in an email from LC to the principals that the year after, times will be changed again! At least for the elementary schools!

No, the high school times were supposed to change so that both schools would start at the same time. Does anyone know if this has been figured out. You'd think SIX administrators could figure this out.
