how we look to others

O.J. is innocent to the best of our legal systems ability. Of course it depends on the evidence presented and the view of all 12 jurors that the evidence is beyond a "reasonable doubt" NOT 100% certainty. A good judge, bad judge, good prosecuter, bad prosecutor, good cop, bad cop, good lawyer, bad lawyer, good witness, bad witness and 1,000 other factors influence the outcome. Not one juror, cop, prosecutor or judge can say for certain what happened because they were not there. Evidence, confessions and even witnesses have all proved to be at times wrong. We know that to be the case because of so many situations including death row inmates cleared by DNA 5, 10 or 20 years later.

The Lake County States Attorney's Office prosecuted Artley and Williams based on time reporting paperwork supplied by WPS. They did this even though they already had evidence that WPS had falsified and forged time reporting paperwork in our case at the same time. Waller promised a full investigation before the election but after the election wouldn't do anything about it. I cannot tell you how relieved I was that Artley and Williams were found innocent. It may be the best we have today but our legal system is broken and that is fact. Our legal system is just as corrupt as the governors office and the Lake County States Attorney's Office is as bad as it could be. That being said, Juan Rivera has been determined to be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Until WE demand more accountability and more ethical behavior from all of our elected officials including Waller and things are greatly improved, we have to go with the current system and it's decisions.

O.J. was not found "innocent", he was found "not guily". there is a realy difference.

i was not here during the rivera case and i only know what i have read recently. i am bothered by no physical evidence. but i am sure that juan rivera was not at church chior practice while the crime was committed. that is the real problem.

the police always seem to bring in someone who has a long record. not an alterboy, i'm, sure.

Merriam Webster Dictionary definition of Innocent: free from legal guilt or fault (There really isn't a difference)

If the justice department prosecutors can do what they did to Senator Stevens, a sitting senator, why do we expect any different from local prosecutors.
