BULLDOGS BASKETBALL ONE GAME AWAY FROM WINNING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

Press Release: 03-21-2009

The Waukegan High School Boys' Basketball team is one win away from a state championship!

After dominating their competition all season, the Bulldogs traveled to Peoria where they need a win Saturday night to bring home the school’s first-ever basketball championship. Waukegan School District 60 Board of Education and administration are proud to support the team 100 percent.

Waukegan (25-4) beat Dundee Crown (24-5) at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Peoria Civic Center. The Bulldogs will play for the IHSA Class 4A championship at 8:15 p.m. Saturday.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to Waukegan at approximately 2:00pm on Sunday afternoon. City of Waukegan vehicles and staff will be meeting the team bus at city limits and will escort them to the "Dog Pound at" the WHS Washington Campus. The Coach Ashlaw and team captains will speak of their successful season. The Waukegan School District Board of Education and Administration invite the community to join them at 2:00 at the Dog Pound to welcome our Bulldog Basketball team back home.

It's been too many years. Where is the 'dog pound' at the school? And is this going to conflict with the debate?

The 9th grade center. I hear there's going to be something going on there today (Tuesday) at 4:00pm.

I just received a call from the school saying that since it was raining today, the parade has been postponed until Thursday March 26th. The school will be on 'assembly' schedule which means 8th period will be let out at 1:26, and if you have a 9th, it will be let out at 2:10. The parade will step off from Weiss Field at 2:30 and proceed to the 9th grade Center, where there will be a pep rally. All are invited!!
