Tea Party activists shout racial slurs at Congressmen - WT Reader - 03-21-2010 Thousands of angry, militant "Tea Party" activists swarmed near the U S Capital building on March 20, 2010 and shouted abusive language and racial slurs as minority Democratic U S House members left for the U S Capital building. News reports are stating they repeatedly used the "N" word and spit at these minority, Democrat Members of Congress. Also, U S House member Barney Frank was shouted at using the "F" word. Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.) stated that he has not heard such language used since Civil Rights marches he participated in in the early 1960's. The Congressman reported absolute shock and disbelief. Other minority of Members of Congress who witnessed this deplorable incident have issued similiar statements. Numerous major media outlets have reported this story. This very disturbing occurrence undoubtedly exposes the true beliefs and perspectives of many in the "Tea Party" movement and other related extremely radical right-wing, extraordinaly hate-mongering, fear-mongering, racist, oppressive anti-American organizations. Re: Tea Party activists shout racial slurs at Congressmen - ClassicalLib17 - 03-21-2010 Does anyone have a video, cell phone, or pocket camcorder recording of this ALLEGED outrage? Imagine the value of such a video. That would fetch a handsome price from any of the competing national news organizations. But alas, 24 hours have passed and not one lucky American, or Progressive has come forward to collect their prize. The only video I saw was this from The Washington Timeshttp://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/watercooler/2010/mar/20/congressman-claims-health-care-bill-protesters-hur/ The rest of the websites on Google-- CBS, MSNBC, etc. were all print and no "Smoking Gun," except for the obviously doctored picture on the Huffington Post website. Certainly the accusers(congressmen) were all "ARMED" with the latest in cell phone technology, yet not a one had the presence of mind to record any of the 15 times that the N word was ALLEGEDLY SHOUTED. I am getting a creepy feeling that a few members on this forum are trying to create racial discord. A "conspiracy theory" that the stated esteemed, long serving, minority Congressmen involved are making this all up??? What absolute nonsense. Still further erruptions occurred today in the U S House Chamber, for which arrests were made, while several Republican lawmakers stood up and "cheered" for these unlawful disruptions of the people's business. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35965961/ns ... itol_hill/ http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35965961/ns ... itol_hill/ And IF none of this really happened, then why did RNC Michael Steele and Amy Kremer, an organizer for this event, apologize?? THEY would not have apologized had they not believed that in fact these sordid slurs actually DID occur. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03 ... lawmakers/ --- WT Reader Re: Tea Party activists shout racial slurs at Congressmen - ClassicalLib17 - 03-21-2010 Once again, where is the audio/video? Once again, not one person in the crowd recorded anything. At least two members of this forum have attempted to link Tea Party members with the Ku Klux Klan, one even posted a link to their website. Even if there was one moron in the crowd, that doesn't make them the official spokesman for an entire movement. That would be equivalent to saying that because President Obama is friends with and looks up to Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, he is a communist too. Here, read this eye opener. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers Personally, I wouldn't knowingly associate with communists, but then again, I am not a Progressive either. LOL, one right out of the discredited book of Joe McCarthy. Re: Tea Party activists shout racial slurs at Congressmen - ClassicalLib17 - 03-22-2010 Quote:WT Reader says: LOL, one right out of the discredited book of Joe McCarthy. What does the late Senator Joe McCarthy, who died in 1957, have to do with President Obama's mentor Bill Ayers and his official biography on Wikipedia? Did you read the part of his bio from when he was teaching elementary school children and his educational philosophy? I thought that part was particularly disturbing. Or was it Ayers' own quote " I'm a small 'c' communist" that troubles you? I didn't say or imply that President Obama is a closet communist, he merely has a number of colleagues and friends who have made public statements regarding their own personal political philosophies and heroes. And that is the truth. Re: Tea Party activists shout racial slurs at Congressmen - gmg77 - 03-22-2010 So which is it Classic Lib a hoax or an isolated incident? How about bricks in Democratic HQ another liberal media conspiracy? On the one side you have the element of human interpersonal relationships. There are true friendships and there are acquaintances. I know I have both friends and acquaintances who have quite diverse backgrounds. For all I know they may be white supremacists or communists. The point is that there are many facets to interpersonal relations and if you are single mindedly selective in that process you are probably screwed up. On the other hand you have an individual choosing to associate with an organization. In this case people usually choose to associate with an organization which has qualities that the person is attracted to and in accord with. In this case the qualities of the Tea Party are attractive to and in accord with White Supremacists mindset. I'll close with an analogy. I have friends who knit. I don't like to knit but don't exclude people from being my friends or acquaintances because they like to knit. There are many other qualities that form our friendship. Because I don't like knitting I do not join knitting clubs. Usually the only people attracted to join a knitting club would be people who have an interest in knitting. People who like to crochet might also join a knitting club because of the relative similarities. Are you saying " kill the bill" is a racial epithet? I don't understand what you people are trying to do here? Are you consciously trying to foment racial discord? Or are you merely displaying your philosophy for dealing with opposing political points of view. Personally, had I been there and recorded some fool in the crowd shouting racial epithets, I would have promptly 1.Clubbed the fool 2.Exited the scene in a hasty manner 3. Sold my video to the highest bidder 4. Remove the license plates from my car, thereby abandoning it 5. Buy an airline ticket home( first class) 6. Purchase a new Cadillac 7. Sell my house, taking my one time capital gains exclusion 8. Buy a new brick home with aluminum clad windows and aluminum wrapped soffit and fascia 9. Buy a substantial amount of NewsCorp. stock 10. PAY THE TAXES on my video reward. 11. Donate money to my local 9-12 Patriot chapter 12. Continue to enjoy my full life. Why do some of you have to be so miserable? Can you find a way to disagree with a fellow forum member without using unsubstantiated allegations? I am fairly certain that I am not the only conservative member on this forum and your expressed association between 9-12 patriots and hate groups not only hurts me, but many others on this forum, as well. Please tone down your rhetoric and stick with the facts. |
