Bush commutes sentence of Border Agents Ramos and Campeon - fedupinwaukegan - 01-19-2009

I'm just getting wind that President Bush has made a 11th hour commute of the border agents 10 year sentence. They will be free to go home to their families. I will publish a news source when available. What great news for the families. Monica Ramos and her father where in town almost two years ago to talk about this issue. Her pain was overwhelming.

I hope this is true....

Bush pardons 2 former border guards
By DEB RIECHMANN – 7 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — President George W. Bush has commuted the prison sentences of two former Border Patrol guards whose convictions for shooting a Mexican drug dealer ignited debate about illegal immigration.

Bush's act of clemency on Monday for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean was a victory for Democratic and Republican members of Congress and others who pleaded with the president to pardon the men or at least commute their sentences.

Ramos and Compean are each serving sentences of more than 10 years for shooting an unarmed illegal immigrant as he was fleeing an abandoned marijuana load in 2005, then trying to cover it up.

Sorry this is not clear but here is a shot from Fred Flannigan's conference with Monica Ramos and her father. They were such real and wonderful people. I am overwhelmingly happy for them. I wonder who got to tell them and when they will get out.

I hope they will be able to get past the wrong done to them and live a wonderful blessed life.
