Sherriff Curran - NorthsideKaren - 09-19-2008 Just wanted to give major credit for having the balls to take on the problem no other politician will mention- illegal immigration. And, for having the balls to take on the Chicago machine! That takes big ones! I have to admit, I was one of those who was not thrilled with the idea of a criminal attorney as sheriff, but I voted for Curran to get rid of Del Re and his corruption. I know in my old age I might be getting more cynical but it looks like this to me... He does his little self interment dog and pony show going into the jail for a week. He makes statewide and national attention doing that. Then he takes on Mayor Daley. This can only serve to get him statewide recognition in case he wanted to run for some kind of state office. I may be wrong and I don't mean to pick on Curran. Just letting you know how it looks to me. So far I am impressed with him as sheriff, like NSKaren I was wrong about him at the beginning. Oh well...even a low crime rate country like Canada has a few bad people.
