Psycho Principal - broken arrow - 12-10-2008
Did anyone else hear about the Brookside Principal going psycho at last Friday's pep rally, wielding a hammer and hitting the podium he was standing at like 20 times, ultimately destroying it? Is this the best we could do as a leader? God help our children! :o

Yes, it appears this is the best we can do and will continue to do for the next 3 years. It is sad but true. The citizens of Waukegan and politicians of Waukegan need to look at Chicago and learn from them.

I thought the principal only had a one-year contract...If this person did go "off" at a rally as you say, I would think that type of behavior would be a reason to release him from the contract. Even though it was a bumpy ride with a revolving door of principals when my kids were at WHS I am very glad they are out of there and not dealing with this type of "adult" behavior!

That's correct the principal received a 3 year extension to his contract. I guess Lincoln Center and he believe he is the best. If you question his belief in himself just ask him and he will tell you that he is smarter than everyone.

Four more years for colonel klnk? what wise poeple thought up that bright idea? Didn't they learn from the Guerra mistake?
Who was hired as the assistnt principals, 9 head masters and DI's? Is he loading up on cronies?
Does anyone know why he was put on administrative leave in HP? (so I hear).

The Headmasters and DIs have not been announced. Correra (sp?), the new Head of Communications, Minerva Cruz and someone from outside Dist. 60 will be the assistant principals next year. A looooooooooong letter explaining the non biased selectin process was sent out. The rumor, alledgedly, the parents at HP were unhappy with him. Moral is at an all time low. Those who can are planning on leaving. Many very invested staff are finally getting the message that they are not appreciated and it just isn't worth it anymore. If I was a betting person I'd bet a lot of them will turn up at the Charter School. Just because District 60 doesn't want it doesn't mean the state won't give it the go ahead.
